DAY 30!!!

BEFORE

I loved this old Hotel Parking sign. It shows so much weathering and character I had to do it for my last post. Ive been scrunched on time so i'm going have to make this one quick

AFTER

Well here it is! My final post! Take some time to scroll down through the past thirty days!

Thank You,

Nathan Walter

Day 29

BEFORE

Im short on time so i'm trying to get the last few in.
Here is a simple PARK sign.

AFTER

Day 28

BEFORE

I liked the simplicity of this BAKERY sign

AFTER

All I did was type the word BAKERY and smudged it a little with the finger tool.

Day 27

Day 26

BEFORE

This is a Coffee House sign painted on the side of a brick wall.

AFTER

I used a few different styled brushes on photoshop for the brick, coffee, and smoke then added the helvetica type.I thought it had a better impact with the black and white contrast, especially with the smoke.

Day 25

BEFORE

76

AFTER

Here is my good old 76's!

Day 24

BEFORE

This is some old push sign off of some old door...

AFTER

...and here is mine!

Day 23

BEFORE

I can did how this sign is all cut up. I think I may just do the negative areas but i'm not sure yet.

AFTER

This one is kinda hard to read, but it was defiantly fun and different to make.

Day 22

BEFORE

I decided this time not to do any type in the sign. it's a big  relief since takes so long to make words.

AFTER

Day 21

Before

Not only does this sign have a unique shape, but it also sounds like you say BARF while pronouncing it.

After

Changed the color up a little. But who cares.

Day 20

BEFORE

I really liked how this one hour sign looked. i think instead of trying to capture the whole sign, I will just do the one hour circle.

AFTER

This one is upside down and mirrored defiantly. But it still turned out okay.

Day 19

BEFORE
This sign is unique, usually Rest Room is spelled as one word (Restroom) one any average bathroom now a days.

 AFTER

I figured i would try something different and just use pencil and notebook paper. I liked how this sign turned out. I may make a matching mens room sign.

Day 18

Before
This strictly modern sign appears to have that rugged look but its pretty basic. I may mess around with this one to try and make it a little more interesting.

After

Day17

BEFORE

AFTER

When I found this Star Biscuit Co. Sign I knew that i wanted to change it to say snow biscuit and incorporate the snow flakes. This is how that turned out.

Day 16

BEFORE

AFTER

The original red was so typical for a marketplace sign. I figured why not go with a more unique color. I could't really decide on the color so here are the three I liked best. Which color do you like the best?

Day 15

BEFORE

For this next one i think i will do the arrow square, this one also has a unique angle to it. When i finish this i will move onto the top square which encompasses the whole sign.

AFTER

Day 14

BEFORE

For this second part i thought i would attact the  angled market square. It has a unique camera angle that may make it a little harder to get the type.
AFTER

Day 13

BEFORE

I found this really cool piece that breaks up one sign into many. I think the next few days I will try to re-make this sign.

AFTER

I figured I would start off with the close up of the P since it is one of the larger portions and more simple.

Day 12

BEFORE

i was really drawn to this cafe sign when looking through this catalog of old signs. Being so, I think i'm going to draw it.

Middle

I started with cardboard paper and chalk pastels then outlined it with a sharpie.

AFTER

Then I played with the pixels a little bit to add that extra effect.I think the blue and orange complementary colors really add to an eye pleasing sign.

Day 11

BEFORE

This vintage 7up sign really exploits the simplicity that a sign can possess. It may be hard to match the color with the paper, but its nothing photoshop won't fix.

MIDDLE

Just getting a handle on the type. While I was drawing I thought it would be a good idea to cut out the positive area int the 7up logo and surrounding circles then just mount onto white paper. Its pretty late right now so i think ill take care of the rest of this tomorrow.

AFTER

I thought maybe this 7-up sign was good enough before editing it, but I really wanted to add more of a sense of time and abrasion. I think this sign turned out great.

Day 10

BEFORE

I really liked the contrast that was in this GARAGE sign.

AFTER

I really wanted to keep that feel of contrast but to try and also use line to create a flow and direction through the close tracked letters.

Day 9

BEFORE

I enjoyed this sign because of its unique vertical format. I also thought it was ironic that the word up was on the bottom of the composition.

AFTER

I used the bottom sliver of a regular sheet of notebook paper and free handed the letters to resemble the other sign.
